US President Donald Trump signed the Defense Production Act, which should help use all the resources of the national economy to combat coronavirus. The president himself announced this on his microblog Twitter.

“I only signed the Defense Production Act to combat the Chinese virus should we need to invoke it in a worst-case scenario in the future. Hopefully, there will be no need, but we are all in this TOGETHER!” the presidential report said.

Trump has already warned that such a law will need to be available in order to take advantage of the American economy and release enough funds needed to combat the coronavirus epidemic. This law allows the U.S. government to take control of the U.S. civilian economy and set up plans for private enterprises to produce the necessary products. Also, the state under this law receives the right to regulate prices. The last time the Defense Products Act was applied during the Korean War (1950-1953).

In order to combat the coronavirus, President Trump has proposed various economic measures. So, the Government supposed to give out $ 1,000 for each US citizen. This step supposed to stimulate consumer activity and pour enough funds into the national economy. Meanwhile, the US economy continues to survive the crisis caused by the pandemic.

As a result of trading on the New York Stock Exchange, March 16, key indices lost 12-13%. The fall continues amid the spread of a new coronavirus.
US stocks fell after a statement by President Donald Trump about a possible recession in the United States.

“Well, that could be so,” Trump said, answering a question about whether the economy is moving toward recession, given the situation in the stock market.

At the same time, the US president associated the decline primarily with coronavirus.

“As soon as he leaves, everything will end, and we will deal with it, I think you will see incredible growth,” Trump said.

According to the latest data, 7038 cases of coronavirus infection were recorded in the USA, 97 of them were fatal.

In total, more than 206 thousand cases of COVID-19 were detected in the world. The number of deaths reached 8764.

Bankruptcy protection is available to you and most persons confronted with debts, through the filing of a bankruptcy petition. Upon the filing of a properly formulated bankruptcy petition in the bankruptcy court, section 362 of the bankruptcy code permits the implementation of the automatic stay.

The automatic stay is a provision that protects a debtor or debtor in bankruptcy from at least temporary actions by creditors to collect applicable debts. Included in the protection protected afforded by section 362 is most creditors must cease any lawsuits, foreclosures, actions to repossess property, garnish assets such as wages and bank accounts, and even the persistent phone calls and harassment displayed by some creditors.

There are limits to the protections afforded by filing bankruptcy. Some creditors are exempt from the bankruptcy protections afforded by section 362. Repeat filers of a Chapter 13 bankruptcy may have to take measures to either extend the automatic stay or even create or implement the automatic stay.

However, the filing of the bankruptcy usually extends such bankruptcy protections to the debtor. For certain more aggressive creditors, our office will generally file a suggestion of bankruptcy subsequent to the filing of the bankruptcy petition. Often, we will additionally send additional notices to certain creditors of the filing, to ensure that such creditors do not attempt any behavior that could be considered a violation of the bankruptcy protections.

If you are in need of such protection from a creditor or creditors, I can help. My name is Jay Weller and I have practiced bankruptcy law in the State of Florida since 1993. I have filed many thousands of bankruptcies which have given much needed protection and comfort to my clients, helping them avoid the loss of their homes, automobiles, assets, and other important properties. Of course, if one loses his or her home or automobile to a creditor’s actions, such loss can go far beyond the loss of property.

If you are in need of bankruptcy protection then please contact a reputable attorney today. Jay Weller may be reached directly through our website at www.jayweller.com or toll free at 1-800-407-3328 (DEBT). Jay Weller will speak with and later meet with you directly in representing your case, and getting you the necessary protections from you creditors in order that you may begin your fresh start, free from creditor harassment.

The United States Bankruptcy Code provides for five varieties of bankruptcy. Chapter 7 bankruptcy is often called a straight bankruptcy or liquidation. Chapter 9 bankruptcy is reserved for municipalities. Chapter 11 bankruptcy applies to either corporations or individuals whose debts exceed those permitted by a Chapter 13 bankruptcy. Chapter 12 is a form of bankruptcy reserved those engaged in the operations of a farming or fishing. Chapter 13 offers a reorganization of the debts of a wage earner. These forms of bankruptcy are referred to chapters because each is offered under a different chapter of the bankruptcy code.

The most commonly filed bankruptcy is Chapter 7. Chapter 7 bankruptcy is commonly employed by a debtor seeking to discharge or eliminate unsecured debts. Unsecured debts are obligations that are unencumbered by collateral. A credit card or a medical bill is generally an unsecured debt. A mortgage on a home or an automobile loan is usually a secured debt. The home or automobile serves as security for the loan. If one does not pay a secured debt obligation, the creditor may seek to recover or repossess the collateral.

Most individual debtors qualify for a Chapter 7 bankruptcy, with some exceptions. If the debtor’s median income as determined by his or her family size significantly exceeds the median income, the debtor may not be eligible to file Chapter 7.

What’s an Ignition Interlock Device (IID)?

An ignition interlock device is an electronic device that requires that you blow into a device, that measures alcohol, and only allows you to start the vehicle if you have no alcohol in your system. Most of the devices also randomly or regularly require you to blow into the device while you are driving. The devices have to be professionally installed by an installation center, approved by the DMV, and regularly calibrated and maintained. The centers charge a fee for installation and maintenance, and must also report to the DMV the installation, removal, and any attempts to tamper with the device.

Why are Ignition Interlock Devices Required for First Time Offenders?

For first time offenses in California, certain counties require an IID for offenders, even with no priors. Los Angeles County is the only county in Southern California that requires an IID on a first-time DUI.

The requirement of an IID is not a court-imposed penalty, although the court might warn about it. It is a DMV requirement. The reason why Los Angeles County cases all require a DMV imposed IID, is to see, as part of a pilot program, whether or not requiring an IID has any impact, or is a deterrent, against a first-time offender becoming a second-time offender.

The hope for the pilot program is to show, compared to statistics collected before the pilot project, that an IID either does or does not, cause persons to not offend again and get a second-time DUI.

Is an IID Required for Second Time Offenders?

The court doesn’t require an IID in Los Angeles, and neither does the DMV. That makes the punishment for a second-time offense less than those for first-time offenders if you have a Los Angeles DUI case.

For the second time DUI offenders, the court will not impose an IID requirement. The DMV will not make an IID mandatory, but for second-time offenders, the DMV imposes an 18-month suspension and requires that drivers attend an 18-month school to get a license back in full. Drivers have two options of getting a restricted license, at their choice:

Install an IID and drive again on a restricted license after a 90-day hard suspension (three months), until the 18 months are completed; or

Have a one year (12 months) hard suspension, and then have a restricted license for 6 months until the 18-month class is completed.

Most drivers choose the lower 90-day suspension and have an IID installed, whether they have a Los Angeles DUI or not.
